At first, I didn’t understand the purpose of having a web blog.  Why would I want my entire class and random strangers looking at my writing?  I figured it is only a waste of the little time I have for myself in this extremely busy semester.  I use to have the time to write.  I use to have the time to read when and what I chose but now it is all about responsibilities and obligations.  Well, I use to free my thoughts but now I think, what’s the point in writing anything at all if people aren’t going to read it?  I might as well put my energy to good use.  I am a college student majoring in adolescent education and my blog will not only contain English Composition assignments but information that I find interesting about education and the New York school system, which like every other is not reaching it’s full potential.  Each blog will include facts but most likely contain more of my own opinions on what may be going on or what needs to be done.  I may also choose to include a range from information on politics to movie and books reviews, to any of my own experiences.

My attempt is to attract people to my blog and if not, just to put my writing out there for the few that may enjoy it or have comments about my points of view.  I want more to sincerely state what’s on my mind then to simply write something I have no interest in just because other’s want to hear it.  This is not just a class assignment.  It is an opportunity to keep on record something with meaning and publish it for all to see.  Forget the money.  Most writers are poor.  This is a hobby, an “extracurricular activity,” a place to clear my mind from the stress inside and outside home, school and work.  It is a place to organize my thoughts, my dreams and my goals to come to a conclusion as to how to make a difference in this world, my main career goal.  Most importantly my web blog is about being open to improvement in writing and criticism.
