Who should win the next presidential election? I was sitting in the doctor’s office a few days ago and I heard a conversation between two elderly women. They spoke about the respect they do not have for Hillary Clinton because she forgave Bill after the Monica scandal. One woman said there was no way she could vote for someone like that who would put up with such nonsense. What does Hillary’s private life have to do with the way in which she’ll manage the nation? Perhaps they think she has lost control over her marriage, therefore she can lose control over the government. If this is their reason it makes no sense because a marriage and a presidency are completely different situations. All I know is that I would like to see either Obama or Clinton. They have similar ideas and tasks with some variation but the matter is who will follow out with their ideas of change. Is Hillary less liable because of her marital situation or is she more liable because of her experience?

Republicans and War March 18, 2008

So, as I have read in a New York Times Article, Senator John McCain has visited Iraq, reinforcing his ideas of staying in the area for another “hundred years,” but wait, that’s only if we have to. While some people support our presence in Iraq, the majority of the country doesn’t so what’s the point in still trying. Isn’t the purpose of having a president so that he can represent the country? Instead, McCain continues to believe he is right in supporting a war that according to Bush was supported by God? So that’s the meaning of being Christian? I always thought Jesus wanted peace, maybe I was wrong.

A senior member of the Islamic Iraqi Council described McCain’s visit as an American advertisement. I’m not at all surprised as we are run by the some, hopefully few who care for nothing more than “money power respect, what you need in life,” the way the rapper Lil’ Kim describes it, but wait these rappers set violent examples and pollute our society, or is it really our high and mighty that does so? It’s just a thought. McCain also stated that he wants to stay in Iraq but not to fight. So why are our troops there if they are not fighting? That’s what they’re trained for. It is both pathetic and humorous how this makes no sense.
